天津七中创建于1951年，是全国首批重点中学，天津市高中首批招生校，国家级示范性高中。近三年以来经政府和教委部署，进行市局调整、重新规划，校容校貌焕然一新，以雄伟壮丽的风姿矗立于海河东畔。中央首长及市区领导多次莅临我校视察工作。现有特级教师8人，河东名师3人，具有硕士研究生教师11人，教育硕士学位教师10人，市级兼职教研员4人，区级兼职教研员8人。　

　　半个多世纪来学校积淀了丰富的文化底蕴，陶冶了广博精深的治学精神。近年来，贯彻市委、市政府重点建设一批南开耀华式的优质高中，满足广大人民群众受好教育的愿望的部署，经扩建维修，学校发生了天翻地覆的变化，校容校貌焕然一新。

　　学校教师教风严谨，师德高尚；学生学风浓郁，学有所长；教育教学成绩优异，每年学生在全国学科竞赛中都有数十人获等级奖。高中会考合格率始终保持100％，连续十八年在教育教学综合评估中被评为优秀。近几年来，高考本科一次上线率为98％以上，大学录取率均为100％，大批学生被名牌大学录取。2009年高考更是取得本科上线率100%的骄人成绩，并且天津市高考文科状元也落户七中。

　　七中高中与市直属五中学并列成为首批招生校。学校重视培养特长生，在市级和国家级学科竞赛中有数百人获奖。其中有全国华罗庚数学金杯赛金牌第一名，全国初中数学联赛（天津赛区）连续三年团体总分第一，计算机信息技术竞赛银牌、铜牌，高中数、理、化、英竞赛的一、二、三等奖，文艺体育队多次获一、二等比赛奖。随着时代前进的步伐，七中将抓住建设和发展的机遇，进一步优化教育教学进程，面向全方位的现代化，实现跨越式的发展。热烈欢迎优秀生加盟七中成长成才。

　　Tianjin No. 7 Junior and Senior high School was established in 1951. With the recommendation of Tianjin Education Bureau, it is granted by the municipal government as one of the eight key Junior and Senior high schools. And its fame stands the test of time. More honorably, it is entitled as a National Modeling Senior School and has passed the annual inspection to National Modeling Senior School not only in facility modernization but also in academic excellence. Even a casual stroll around school campus is a kind of enjoyment. Its school buildings and facilities are designed to accommodate teaching and learning in a harmonious atmosphere. Classes and laboratories are well equipped with high-tech teaching equipment and instruments. School gardens are decorated with exotic flowers and plants, and fountains spray water all year around. This school aims to create a once-in-life desirable learning environment here and promote every student to join in this big beautiful happy family.

　　School faculty are consisted of experienced teachers, who have all the time been keeping a habit of lifelong learning so as to be comprehensive, innovative and enthusiastic, and life-loving instructors. More importantly, teachers here are endeavoring to set up a good example for students. Learning here is not an obligation but a holy mission for one’s community as well as oneself.

　　Up to now more than 3,800 students are enrolled in this school, ranging among the six grades, from Junior high one to Senior high, most of whom are picked out from tens of thousands of elementary graduates and junior high graduates. Every September No. 7 junior and senior high school opens her arm to welcome elite with her strict schooling concept and abundance of opportunity for students, especially offering great opportunity for those who have strong suits. Every year dozens of students are honorably granted with a variety of national awards. Hence, every year, from July to August, after the National college entrance examination, many Grade three senior high students are delighted to receive notices from key universities throughout China. Now it has been an unwritten trend for most students to pay a grateful visit to their high school in the following September, the National Teachers’ Day.

　　To cultivate students’ all-round ability, No.7 Senior School lays strong emphasis on students’ talents. Students are highly encouraged to take part in various groups according to their own interest. Up to now, six well-organized groups have already been established and group members have been well instructed at fixed time every week. They actively compete in annual events and almost every five in six groups have been awarded the first prize. The well-performed groups are as follows—the gymnastic group, football group, basketball group, chorus group, orchestra group, and dance group. It is honorable to mention, in the past two years there are two students who have been awarded a grand honor—Tianjin Ten Excellence Students. They are students Meng Liang and Liu Chang. As everyone knows, this award only grants to ten excellent performed students who are to be not only good at subjects but also qualified with cooperation and creativity ability.
